Removing and Installing the Processor Air Baffle
You will need to remove the processor air baffle to perform the following procedures:
ƒ
Removing and installing a processor thermal blank
ƒ
Removing and installing a processor
ƒ
Removing and installing a processor cache VRM converter
ƒ
Removing and installing a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive
ƒ
Removing and installing the main board
ƒ
Removing and installing a front panel I/O board
Refer to the steps to remove and install the processor air baffle when directed to do so.
Removing the Processor Air Baffle
1. Observe the safety precautions, warnings, and cautions described in “ Safety Information ”, page
5.
2. Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the system.
3. Power down the server and disconnect both AC power cords.
4. Remove the top cover. For instructions, see “ Removing the Top Cover ”, page 139.
5. Push in at the four locations labeled “A” in Figure 88 to release the four tabs. Push first at the
right front tab location, then the left front before releasing the rear tabs.
6. Pull up on the processor air baffle to remove it. See letter “B” in the figure.
