Battery Replacement
The server CMOS contains an internal lithium cell. A risk of fire and burns exists if
the battery is not properly handled. To reduce the risk of personal injury:

DO NOT recharge the battery.

DO NOT expose the battery to temperatures higher than 60°C (140°F).

Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, short external contacts, or dispose of
the battery in fire or water.

Replace only with the spare designated for this product.

After replacing the battery, you must reconfigure the server and reset the
system date and time.
To remove the battery:
1. Power down the server and disconnect the power cables from the server.
2. Gently slide and remove the server out of the rack.
3. Remove the access panel (Refer to Access Panel Replacement).
4. Remove the PCIe Riser cage.
5. Locate the battery on the motherboard.
6. Gently press the clip on the battery socket until the battery pops up from the
socket. Remove the battery.

DO NOT pry or press the battery using excessive force.

Failing to remove the battery properly might damage the socket on the
motherboard.
