4.3.3.3 Purge gas connection
The connection for the purge gas is located on the lower side of the device, see
"Connections for accessories and control signals [
}
31]". This is a quick connection
for hoses with an outside diameter of 8 mm.
To purge use a Helium free gas at atmospheric pressure. The surrounding air may be
contaminated with traces of Helium due to spraying or filling up large containers. In
such cases connect a gas supply line (this means Nitrogen or fresh air or similar) over
the purge gas connection. The pressure in this gas line must not exceed the
atmospheric pressure by more than 100 mbar.
4.3.3.4 Venting connection
Normally, the specimens are vented with ambient air after completion of the test. If
necessary, the test specimens can be ventilated with another gas (e.g. fresh air, dry
air, nitrogen, etc.) via the ventilation connection. The pressure at the ventilation
connection must not exceed the atmospheric pressure by more than 100 mbar.
In these cases, a ventilation hose must be connected to the ventilation connection of
the device, see "Connections for accessories and control signals [ } 31]".
