10.7.2 Company Headquarters

In Figure 10-7 the SmartNode 2000 series with an optional IC-E1V interface card installed is used as a
voice gateway and IP router in a company headquarters.

The PBX is connected to the PRI port of the IC-E1V interface card, providing up to 30 concurrent
ISDN B-channels. The voice data is transferred via the integrated voice gateway in the SmartNode
2000 series over Ethernet interface ETH 0/0.

Depending on the call procedures defined by the software running in the SmartNode 2000 series
voice data is formatted as H.323 compliant or ISoIP voice streams.
