8.1.2. THE SUPPORT PLATE’S THICKNESS
Thickness displayed in millimetres.
To increase or decrease the thickness of the sheet to which the attachment will be welded, press the D+ and D- keys.
The thickness ranges that can be selected are linked to the type, size and material of the workpiece to be welded.
If the sheet’s thickness is less than that indicated on the screen, the support sheet may become deformed during the
welding process.
When the workstation displays
, the sheet’s thickness is sufficiently high that the synergy’s welding parameter
settings are no longer affected.
If this symbol does not appear, then the sheet metal’s maximum thickness has been reached. Beyond this thickness, it
is no longer possible to guarantee that the consumable can be welded.
Note 1: When a rivet-pulling rod synergy is selected, the thickness changes ( icon) and corresponds to the rivet
head’s diameter in millimetres.
Note 2: When switching from SYNERGY to MANUAL mode, all welding parameters (currents, times and heights, etc.)
associated with the synergy are automatically transferred over to MANUAL mode. This makes it possible to
fine-tune the machine’s settings if the selected synergy does not achieve the expected result (over- or under-en
-
ergised welding).
8.2. WELDING IN MANUAL MODE
In MANUAL mode, the consumables’ times, current, lift height and digital spring activation are to be set by the user.
The MANUAL mode main screen will display:
1.) The arc time in milliseconds (see section
4
)
2.) The arc current (see section
4
)
3.)»Prog» followed by a number will be displayed when a welding configuration has been saved (see section
8
.4.3)
4.) A message box showing the product’s status (see section 8.3)
