9.
Wear proper apparel. Do not wear loose clothing, gloves, neckties, rings, bracelet or other jew-
ellery which may get caught in moving parts. Non-slip footwear is recommended. Wear protec-
tive hair covering to contain long hair.
10.
Always wear approved safety glasses and hearing protectors. Also use face or dust mask if the
planing operation is dusty. Everyday eyeglasses only have impact resistant lenses, they are not
safety glasses.
11.
Secure work. Use clamps or a vice to hold the work when practical. It is safer than using your
hand and it frees both hands to operate the machine.
12.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Wear rubber-soled footwear.
Keep floor clear of oil, scrap and other debris.
13.
Maintain tools with care. Keep tools sharp and clean for best and safest performance. Follow
instructions for lubrication and changing accessories.
14.
Reduce the risk of unintentional starting. Disconnect the machine always when not in use, be-
fore adjusting or servicing and when changing accessories such as blades etc. Make sure switch
is in off-position before plugging it in.
15.
Use only original spare parts and accessories. The use of any other spare parts or accessories
than original parts may cause a risk of injury.
16.
Never stand on the machine. Serious injury could occur if the machine is tipped or if the blade is
unintentionally contacted. Do not store anything above or near the machine.
17.
Check the machine for damages. If you notice any damages in the machine, in its guards or
other parts, do not use it until it has been repaired in an authorized service center. Check for
alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting and any other
conditions that may affect the machine operation. Damaged parts should be properly repaired or
replaced by an authorized service center.
18.
Observe direction of feed. Feed the workpiece into the blade against the direction of rotation of
the blade only.
19.
Never leave the machine running unattended. Turn power off and do not leave the machine until
it comes to a complete stop.
20.
Do not abuse the cord. Never yank the cord to disconnect it from the socket. Keep the cord
away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts. Replace damaged cord immediately in an
authorized service center.
21.
Before plugging in the machine, make sure the voltage used is the same as that on the name
plate.
22.
Do not use the machine when you are tired, sick or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medi-
cation or similar that could affect your ability to use the machine safely.
SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

3.
Prior to all work, make sure that the safety and operating equipment is securely attached. Any
damaged parts must be correctly repaired or replaced by an authorized service center.
4.
Set up the machine on solid ground so that the table is horizontal and the machine cannot tip
over.
5.
Never work with pieces which are too big or too small for the machine’s capacity.
6.
Before planing, examine the workpiece for metal objects and similar and remove them if neces-
sary.
7.
When planing, make sure that the cutter head not used is covered by the knife guard.
8.
When planing thin pieces of timber, suitable devices must be used to ensure that these small
pieces are properly positioned and guided.
