4) Adjusting the Printhead Pressure Thumbscrew
This thumbscrew is used to adjust the force with which the printhead is
pressed against the document. This adjustment has to be performed
with the media you are planning to use for printing.
IMPORTANT
High printhead pressure accelerates printhead
wear.
a)
Ensure that all the installation procedures have been carried out
(refer to Pages 12 to 25).
b) Loosen the printhead thumbscrew (1) as much as you can.
c)
Print the printhead test pattern (see Page 30).
d) Check the print contrast. If it is satisfactory (see Figure below), you
can stop the procedure here.
e)
If the contrast is too weak, tighten the thumbscrew (1) (one half
turn). Print the printhead test pattern again (see Page 30).
f)
Repeat steps d) and e) as long as the print contrast is too weak.
