connection of the refrigerant circuit
SL-Modul
6. Connection of the refrigerant circuit
6.1. Connection lines of the refrigerant cir -
cuit
The outdoor unit is connected to the refrigerant circuit
of the indoor unit via two steam di
ff
usion-sealed in-
sulated copper pipes of air-conditioning pipe quality.
The maximum length of the pipes are 20 m in one
direction.
To avoid buckles in the refrigerant pipes, the minimum
bend radius must be observed. To prevent embritt-
lement or fractures, a pipe location must never be
bent twice. The bend radius should not be less than
100 - 150 mm.
Dimension of the refrigerant pipes
AERO SLM 3-11
Liquid line Ø 12,0 x 1 mm
Hot gas line Ø 16,0 x 1 mm
AERO SLM 6-17
Liquid line Ø 12,0 x 1 mm
Hot gas line 3/4“ ( Ø 19.05 x 1 mm)
The connection pipes between indoor
unit and outdoor unit are not included
in the delivery. They are available as an
accessory and can be ordered by the
iDM-dealer.
6.2. Connection of the outdoor unit on refri-
gerant side
The refrigerant pipes are factory-
fi
tted with protective
caps. Before soldering the refrigerant connection
lines, check that the two shut-o
ff
valves are fully
closed. For connecting the refrigerant lines, the pro-
tective caps must be cut with a pipe cutter.
The soldered connections must be made according
to the requirements of the cooling technology by a
trained refrigeration engineer licensed by IDM-Ener-
giesysteme GmbH.
The refrigerant connection pipes must be cut to the
required length using a pipe cutter, and the inner and
outer burrs must be removed with a special deburrer.
The soldering must be performed under protective
gas (nitrogen N
2
).
On the refrigerant side the indoor unit and the outdoor unit of the AERO SLM are „hermetically
tight“.
Open refrigerant pipes must be protected against moisture and dirth with caps or tapes.
Refrigerant pipes may not be buckled or crushed!
Refrigerant lines must not be opened or cut
off until soldered properly.
