5.3. Assembly of outdoor unit
The refrigerant lines between the internal and the out-
door unit must be build on site. The refrigerant lines
are available as an accessory. The hot gas- and the
liquid line must be insulated separately.
Installation site preparations
Take the following points into account when installing
the outdoor device:
- The maximum pipe length between the outdoor-
and the indoor unit may not be more than 20 meter
in one direction
- For di
ff
erence height between the indoor- and out-
door unit, see page 23
- The installation site must be selected such that no
noise interference can occur (do not install close to
bedrooms, keep distance from neighbours), hedges
and bushes can absorb noise.
- A frost-proof connection of the condensation run-o
ff
is required.
- Unhindered air
fl
ow must be possible (install at
least 20 cm above the expected snow depth).
- The minimum distances, mentioned on the following
pages, must be observed.
- The inlet air must be free of impurities such as sand
and caustic materials such as ammonia, sulphur,
chlorine, etc.
- The outdoor unit must be installed on a rigid, solid
construction.
- When installing at windy locations (e.g. on a roof),
the alignment of the machine must be selected
such that the prevailing wind direction is normally
facing the air inlet direction of the external device.
If the alignment is not possible at very windy loca-
tions, additional wind protection can be installed, e.g.
a hedge.
The connecting lines must be insulated
in order to minimise losses through the
earth.
