CAUTION:
When replacing the lithium battery, use only IBM Part Number 33F8354 or an
equivalent type battery recommended by the manufacturer. If your system has
a module containing a lithium battery, replace it only with the same module
type made by the same manufacturer. The battery contains lithium and can
explode if not properly used, handled, or disposed of.
Do not:

Throw or immerse into water
v Heat to more than 100°C (212°F)

Repair or disassemble
To install the replacement battery, complete the following steps.
1. Follow any special handling and installation instructions that come with the
replacement battery.
2. Insert the new battery:
a. Tilt the battery so that you can insert it into the socket on the side opposite
the battery clip.
b. Press the battery down into the socket until it clicks into place. Make sure
the battery clip holds the battery securely.
3. Reinstall any adapters that were removed.
4. Install the cover. (See “Installing the cover” on page 58).
5. Reconnect the external cables and power cords to the server; then, connect the
power cords to electrical outlets.
6. Turn on the attached devices; then, turn on the server.
7. Start the Configuration/Setup Utility program and reset the configuration.

Set the system date and time.
v Set the passwords, if necessary.

Save the configuration.
