Upgrading the Hard Disk Drive

The ThinkPad 310E/310ED offers you the option to upgrade your
existing hard disk drive to a larger capacity drive. This section
contains detailed instructions for removing and installing the hard
disk drive.

To remove the existing hard disk drive from your computer, do the
following:

1

Turn off the computer.

2

Close the LCD.

3

Take out the battery pack, if it is installed.

4

Turn the computer over on its base.

5

Remove the screw

that holds the hard disk drive bay cover in

place.

6

Slide out

and pull out

to remove the hard disk drive bay

cover.
