3 Connecting the 7060 String('s) to an existing ring

If you are intending to manage the 7060 with upgraded Hardware Management Console on an existing
ring the 7060 String can be configured into a existing LAN with the Hardware Management Console that
will be upgraded to the latest MICRO CODE level.

1. Locate the LAN cable(s). (Part 60G1063) 50ft.
2. Connect the RJ-45 end of cable (Part 60G1063) to the Token-Ring card in the lowest numbered

slot LG09 to LG12 of the system.

3. Connect the LAN end of the first cable to the LAN end of the second cable.
4. Connect the RJ-45 end of the second cable to the 8226/MAU shipped with the order.
5. Connect the RJ-45 end of the third cable to the RI port of the 8226/MAU shipped with the order.
6. Connect the LAN end of the cable to the 8228/MAU of and existing CMOS processor.
7. Insure that the 8228/MAU switch is in the splitter position.

OR

if not using the 8226/MAU.

8. Connect the LAN extension cable (Part 6339134) to the first cable and to the 8228/MAU of an

existing CMOS processor. (maximum distance 150 ft).
