Note: These weights are approximations and are subject to change.
*The install tools crate dimensions and weight can vary by location. The tools and crate must be returned to IBM
when installation is complete.
Transportation Notes
Movers or riggers must be available during the printer installation to lift, move, and position crates and
machine components as needed by the service representative. All crates must be moved in the upright
position, as indicated on the crate.
Use forklifts or suitable pallet jacks capable of moving 1380 kg (3036 lb), the approximate weight of the
heaviest crate, to transport the crates to the installation site.
Movers will locate the print tower crate (the tallest crate), to the exact spot and orient it for installation.
During installation, the service representative will lift the printer from the pallet using special jacks, remove
the pallet, and lower the printer to the floor.
Select a path free from inclinations or thresholds for moving the crates from the unloading dock to the site.
Be sure that elevators are large enough and able to carry the combined weight of the print tower crates
1380 kg (3036 lb), plus the pallet jack and movers. On the entire path, the floor should be able to support
1380 kg (3036 lb), the weight of the heaviest crate, plus the pallet truck.
Movers or riggers will be required to remove the paper supply, jogger table, PES control unit, RIP
controller, collator, and cooling unit from the shipping pallets and then place each item at or near its
intended final location.
