About redundant power supplies and power supply failure

If the switches have redundant power supplies installed, the switches can maintain
full operation when one power supply fails. For greater assurance of continued
operation, each power supply should be connected to a separate building circuit or
power source.

Cooling system and fans

The devices come with one resilient six-fan fan tray.

The c-series cooling fans pull the air from the front (port side) to the back
(non-port side) of the device.

The fans in the switches include six four-speed fans that operate at low speed,
medium speed, medium-high speed, and high speed based on the ambient
temperature and the configured or default temperature thresholds. All fans operate
simultaneously at the same speed. If one fan fails, it does not affect the operation
of the other fans.

System fan speed is determined by the default temperature threshold or the
manually configured temperature threshold. If desired, you can change the
temperature thresholds associated with fan speed switches.
