Do the following for each loop of storage expansion units:

1.

Insert an SFP GBIC into the FC OUT port of upper controller A of the last disk storage expansion unit
in the loop of expansion units.

2.

Insert an SFP GBIC into the FC OUT port of lower controller B of the last disk storage expansion unit
in the loop of expansion units.

3.

Perform

one

of the following two steps (depending on which condition is true):

If the FC IN port of controller A on the first disk storage expansion unit of the loop is attached to
controller A on the N6000 series system, then attach a fiber cable from the FC OUT port on upper
controller A of the last storage expansion unit (where you inserted the SFP GBIC in step 1) to a
Fibre Channel port on controller B on the N6000 series system. The Fibre Channel port on controller
B should be an FC port used as an initiator port for attaching disk storage expansion units, not a
Fibre Channel port configured as an FCP target port.

If the FC IN port of controller A on the first disk storage expansion unit of the loop is attached to
controller B on the N6000 series system, then attach a fiber cable from the FC OUT port on upper
controller A of the last storage expansion unit (where you inserted the SFP GBIC in step 1) to a
Fibre Channel port on controller A on the N6000 series system. The Fibre Channel port on
controller A should be a Fibre Channel port used as an initiator port for attaching disk storage
expansion units, not a Fibre Channel port configured as an FCP target port.

4.

Perform

one

of the following two steps (depending on which condition is true):

If the FC IN port of controller B on the first disk storage expansion unit of the loop is attached to
controller A on the N6000 series system, then attach a fiber cable from the FC OUT port on lower
controller B of the last storage expansion unit (where you inserted the SFP GBIC in step 2) to a
