3.4. Setup of XSEL (Functions in Common)
Establish the settings of XSEL for the followings.
• Activation of Extension Motion Control Feature
• Definition of Position Data Domain (UBM) for Extension Motion Control

• SEL PC software
[How to Set Up]
1) Connect the cable enclosed in the SEL PC software to the teaching port on the XSEL.
Start up the XSEL in MANU Mode.
Connect the SEL PC software and open the parameter edit window.
2) Set All Axes Parameter No. 151 to “1

”.
* The extension motion control feature activate by having this setting done.

3) Establish the setting in I/O Parameter No. 531.
Based on the node addresses assignment checked in 3.1., input the biggest axis number
in the axes to be used.

Position Data
[Example] When using Extension Motion Control Axes No. 0 to 9

Caution : Notice for Redefinition of Position Data Domain
When a change is made to the definition of the position data domains (UBM) (I/O Parameter
No. 530 to 532), the previous position data for extension motion control becomes unavailable to
use . If it is necessary to change the definition of the position data domain once determined,
make a data backup as necessary.
