Raising the platform
WARNING
Visually make sure the cylinder hook and the secondary hook are properly
engaged on a mast rung on each mast before raising or lowering platform
(fi g. 4.19 and fi g. 4.20). Failure to engage hooks correctly can cause the
platform to drop, leading to equipment damage, injury, even death.
1-
Before raising the platform, make sure
that the motorized unit and plank
outriggers clear the building, balconies,
etc., that the mast tie door is open and
that planking has been removed from in
front of each mast when passing a tie
level.
2-
Lock the lowering cams on the cylinder
hook and the secondary hook on each
mast
(fi g. 4.18).
3-
Make sure that the engine is running at
full throttle. Visually make sure that the
cylinder hook and the secondary hook
are properly engaged (fig. 4.19 and
fi g. 4.20) and on the same mast rung
(fi g. 4.23, p. 66) on both masts. Failure to
engage the hooks correctly can cause
the platform to drop.
