Safety
, prior to commencing
work.
The nameplates and any prohibition or instruction symbols applied on the measuring
system must always be maintained in a legible state.
Repairs may only be undertaken by the manufacturer or a facility or person authorized
by the manufacturer.

Functions of the HPT 500
Depending on the model, the instrument has the following functions:
The parameterisation as well as the detection of the measured values and the switch points
is performed by means of an IO-Link interface.
Supports IO-Link specifications V1.1
Supports SIO mode
Adaptation to the corresponding application using specific parameter settings
Switching outputs with parameteriseable delay times
Switching of the switching outputs in accordance with the pressure and the pre-set
switching parameters
Device temperature detection

notes
The differential pressure transmitter can be mounted directly to the hydraulic system via the
standardised G1/2 HN 28-22 thread connection. In order to prevent mechanical damage
when dealing with critical applications involving heavy vibrations or blows, for example, we
recommend securing the unit with an elastomer clamp and decoupling the hydraulic ports
via a Minimess hose.
The recommended mounting position is vertical with the pressure connection pointing
upwards in hydraulic applications.
The tightening torque for the G ½ HN 28-22 thread connector is approx. 33 Nm for aluminum
and approx. 100 Nm for stainless steel (see also chapter
11
Technical details
).
When fitted into a hydraulic block, earthing the block via the hydraulic system is sufficient.
When using hose mounting, the housing has to be grounded separately.
The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician according to the
relevant regulations of the country concerned (VDE 0100 in Germany).
The differential pressure transmitters of the HPT 500 series carry the - mark. A declaration
of conformity is available on request. The relevant EMC standards EN 61000-6-1; EN
61000-6-2, EN 61000-6-3, EN 6100-6-4 are met. However, the stipulations of those
standards are met only if the differential pressure sensor's housing has been correctly
earthed by a qualified electrician.
