6.4 Splitting a Remote Replication Pair
If you want a secondary resource to save data on a primary resource at a specific point in
time, maintain a remote replication link, or expand network bandwidth, you must split the
remote replication pair. After a remote replication pair is split, the data written into the
primary resource by the application server will not be synchronized to the secondary resource.
This may cause data inconsistency between the primary resource and secondary resource.
Prerequisites

The remote replication pair that you want to split is not added to a consistency group.

Based on
Pair Running Status
of the remote replication pair, determine whether the
remote replication pair can be split, as shown in
Table 6-5

Precautions
If the remote replication pair does not complete the initial synchronization, splitting the
remote replication pair will cause data on the secondary resource unavailable. Perform this
