Configuration Roadmap

Connect a PC to the router through a console port.

Perform login settings on the PC.

NOTE

In this example, a terminal emulator is used.

Data Preparation

Communication parameters of the PC (baud rate: 4800 bps, data bit: 6, parity: even, stop bit: 2,
flow control mode: none)

Procedure

Step 1

Establish the configuration environment by connecting the serial port of the PC to the console
port of the router through standard RS-232 cable.

Step 2

Start a terminal emulator on the PC, and set the communication parameters of the PC, as shown
in

Figure 5-2
