4.1 Connecting to the Internet Using an xDSL Interface
This section describes how to connect to the Internet using an xDSL interface.
Networking Requirements
As shown in Figure 4-1 , users connected to the router use the same account. The dialing function
is configured on the router so that users can connect to the Internet.
NOTE
The ADSL line is used as an example. The G.SHDSL line configuration is similar.

Configuration Roadmap
1. Configure a dialer interface that obtains an IP address and the DNS server's IP address
through ADSL dialing.
2. Configure the router as the PPPoA client. The router connects to the Internet through the
PPPoA server.
3. Configure the DHCP server function.
