Configuring ITO
Variables
Variables
This section lists and defines the variables that can be used with ITO,
and gives an output example, where appropriate. Each variable is shown
with the required syntax.
NOTE It is also often useful to surround the variable with quotes, especially if it
may return a value that contains spaces.
Environment Variables
The variables listed below can be used before starting up ITO.
$OPC_BRC_HISTSIZE(env variable)
Returns the value of the environment variable for the
length of the user’s Broadcast Command history. The
maximum number of commands saved is 128 per user.
$OPC_ENV(env variable)
Returns the value of the environmental variable for the
user who has started ITO, for example
PATH,
NLS_LANG, EDITOR, SHELL, HOME, TERM
.
$OPC_HOME
Returns the working directory of the user who starts
an ITO GUI session. If
$OPC_HOME
is not set, the
working directory is
/tmp.
If the unix user that started
the ITO GUI has no write permission in
/tmp,
an
error message is displayed but the GUI still starts.
SNMP Variables
The variables listed below can be used in most SNMP logfile text entry
fields (exceptions are noted). The variables can be used within ITO, or
passed to external programs.

Returns the number of variables in an
enterprise-specific SNMP trap (generic trap 6
Enterprise specific ID). Sample output:
