Installation Overview

This chapter provides step-by-step instructions for installing the HP StorageWorks
A7298A Host Bus Adapter (HBA) including:

IMPORTANT: The HBA contains static-sensitive components. Comply with Electrostatic

Hardware Requirements

The system hardware requirements for installing the HBA include:

•

A host computer that provides 3.3VDC PCI and PCI-X bus power

•

One open 64-bit 33/66 MHz PCI or 66/100/133 MHz PCI-X bus slot with either a
3.3 or a 5.0 VDC signaling interface

•

Multimode fiber optic cable with LC connector, used with short-wave lasers
