Single-Attach Station (SAS)
This configuration avoids the need for an optical bypass switch (page 1-
19) because the FDDI concentrator provides the isolation of the router
from the dual ring (to prevent ring wrap) if the router’s FDDI circuit be-
comes non-operational.
1. Attach the concentrator to the FDDI ring.
2. Attach either port ‘‘A’’ or port ‘‘B’’ to any ‘‘M’’ port on the FDDI
concentrator.
