If you intend to enable power redundancy in the server, install a second power input module in the
power supply bay 2:
a.
Remove the power supply blank.
b.
Install a hot-plug power input module in the power supply bay 2.

Install the HP Smart Storage Battery holder.
16.
If removed, install the secondary PCI riser cage (" Install the PCI riser cages " on page 28 ).
17.
Install the access panel (on page 26 ).
18.
Install the server into the rack (" Installing the server into the rack " on page 36 ).
19.
Connect the power cords to the power supplies.
20.
To prevent accidental power cord disconnection when sliding the server in and out of the rack, secure
the power cord in the hook-and-loop strap attached to the power input module handle:
a.
Unwrap the hook-and-loop strap from the power input module handle.
CAUTION: Avoid tight bend radii to prevent damaging the internal wires of a power cord or a
server cable. Never bend power cords and server cables tight enough to cause a crease in the
sheathing.
