Introduction
The ProCurve Radio Port 230 and ProCurve Radio Port 210, components of
the ProCurve Wireless LAN System, link wireless IEEE 802.11a/b/g devices to
the Ethernet network through a wireless services-enabled switch. Wireless
services-enabled switches include:
■ ProCurve Switch 5300xl Series with a ProCurve Wireless Edge Services
xl Module
■
ProCurve zl switches (such as 5400zl or 8200zl series) with a ProCurve
Wireless Edge Services zl Module
■ Other compatible wireless services-enabled switch products.
The radio ports are designed as simple plug-and-play devices that require no
individual device configuration before network installation. All Radio port
configurations, including: country-specific settings, radio channels, radio
power, SSID settings, security settings, management information, and radio
port software is provided through the wireless services-enabled switch.

Before installing radio ports, a ProCurve wireless services-enabled switch
should be deployed, configured and operational. For details, see the
