Setting Tape Density
Tape density format can be controlled by the SCSI bridge electronics or by the NonStop server. Some
applications will not function without having software control. When the appropriate drivers exist, the latter
method is preferred, and a setting of
FF
should be used (default setting). When the tape drive is not busy,
you can change the tape density by pressing the mode switch. Pressing the mode switch cycles the available
density settings. The options for tape density scroll on the LCD.

Setup Display Format
Configuration of the SCSI bridge electronics is accomplished using the LCD and the mode switch. All
configuration values are retained in nonvolatile memory. There are three setup menus. Setup 1 and Setup 2
contain configuration items, Setup 3 consists of diagnostic and special utilities. Enter the setup menus by
holding in the mode switch while powering up the subsystem. The menu display system forms this hierarchy:
