signal
rather
than
a
video
pulse,

the
necessary
equipmen

is
readily
a

ailable,
easily
calibrated,
and
exible
to
use.

The
output
of
the
HP
3335A
syn
thesizer/level
generator
is
mo
dulated
b
y
the
pulse
generator
using
the
pulse
mo
dulator
to
yield
a
pulsed
RF
signal.
The
system
is
tested,
through
eac
h
of
the
three
6
dB
bandwidth
lters
of
the
HP
85650A
quasi-p eak
adapter,
with
a
pulse
rep etition
frequency
(PRF)
corresp onding
to
CISPR
sp ecications.

The
measuremen

start
with

calibration
of
the

w
er
meter.
If
the

w
er
meter

calibrated
recen
tly

test
skips
this
routine.
Input
Amplitude
Calibration
The
pulse
generator
is
set
to
dc
bias
the
mo
dulator
in
its
ON
state.
The
HP
3335A
syn
thesizer/level
generator's
frequency
is
set
and
the
amplitude
is
adjusted
so
that
the
p o
w
er
at
the
output
of
the
3
dB
attenuator
is
06.99
dBm
(100
dBuV)
as
measured
with
the
p o
w
er
sensor.
This
reference
setting
is
used
in
the
\Pulsed
RF
Signal"
and
\CW
Measuremen
t"
sections
to
set
input
p o
w
er
appropriate
for
the
unit
under
test.

attenuator

vides
