Operation V erification
In this c hapter, y ou will learn ho w to install the EMI receiv er system
op eration v erication test softw are, and ho w to p erform all required
and optional tests. The softw are is designed to pro vide a high lev el
of condence that the EMI receiv er system meets its sp ecications
without requiring excessiv e test equipmen t or test time.
Chapter 3, \T est Descriptions," describ es eac h op eration v erication
test in detail. Refer to that c hapter for information regarding an
individual test.
Note
T o p erform the full range of op eration v erication tests, y ou will
need al l the test equipmen t listed in T able 2-1 . The op eration
v erication softw are directly supp orts only the recommended
test equipmen t. If y ou use other mo dels of test equipmen t, y ou
may need to mo dify the op eration v erication program. F or y our
con v enience, calibration and p erformance v erication are a v ailable
through y our lo cal Hewlett-Pac k ard service cen ter.
It takes ab out four hours to complete all the op eration v erication
tests for the HP 8572A microw a v e EMI receiv er.
Because the program supp orts sev eral input devices (k eyb oard or
mouse), y ou may notice minor text dierences in the men us and
softkeys display ed on the screen.
Before starting the tests, make bac kup copies of the op eration
v erication softw are disks; store the bac kup disks in a safe place. If
an original disk is damaged, or if program data is altered or lost,
y ou will ha v e this bac kup set. Op eration v erication softw are is
sold in complete sets only; y ou cannot order an individual disk.
