5) Wire tie the new thermal fuse in the same position as the old fuse. Make wiring
connections outside of the cabinet.
6) Replace the parts and panels in their proper positions in the reverse order of the
removal procedure.
7) Plug in the unit, and turn on the power supply.
I. Removal and Replacement of Capillary Tube / Heat Exchanger / Suction
Line Assembly
1) Turn off the power supply, and unplug the unit.
2) Remove the panels.
3) Recover the refrigerant and store it in an approved container.
4) Remove the component to be replaced and place the new component in position.
CAUTION
1. Care must be taken to ensure that the capillary tube is not blocked or
contaminated during this process.
2. Ensure that the capillary tube extends inside the mating tubing 1 to 1 3/8"
(25 to 35 mm).
5) Remove the drier, then place a new drier in position.
6) Braze all fittings while purging with nitrogen gas flowing at a pressure of 3 to 4 psig.
7) Check for leaks using nitrogen gas (140 psig) and soap bubbles.
8) Evacuate the system, and charge it with refrigerant; see the nameplate for the required
refrigerant charge.
9) Insulate the lines to match the original configuration.
10) Replace the panels in their correct positions.
11) Plug in the unit, and turn on the power supply.
J. Removal and Replacement of Drain Tank Heater
1) Turn off the power supply, and unplug the unit.
2) Remove the panels.
3) Remove the drain tank cover.
4) Remove the thermostat bulb from the
heater element at the bottom of the tank.
5) Remove the heater from the drain tank.
6) Install the new heater and attach the
thermostat bulb to the heater element.
7) Replace the parts and panels in their
proper positions in the reverse order of the
removal procedure.
8) Plug in the unit, and turn on the power supply.
