Emergency mode

When setting blind rivet nuts / studs it can happen that the thread of the blind rivet nut /

blind rivet stud is damaged and the threaded mandrel / sleeve can no longer be

unscrewed.

The reasons for this can be:

•

Setting of force or stroke too high

•

Incorrect thread of the blind rivet nut / blind rivet stud

•

Greater material thickness in the component

•

Changed material of the blind rivet nut / blind rivet stud

•

Defective or not maintained threaded mandrel (4) / threaded sleeve (4)

Emergency mode blind rivet nuts & studs

If the threaded mandrel / sleeve (4) can no longer be unscrewed, proceed as follows:

1. Press the arrow keys O + U together. The tool now shows on the display the

instructions as follows:

2. Loosen the union nut (3) and the front sleeve (2)
3. Press the Key OK. Now the threaded mandrel /sleeve moves to the very front

position

4. Unscrew the mouthpiece (2) counter clockwise and slide it away from the riveting

tool

5. Tighten the union nut (3) with the front sleeve (2)
6. Hold the device with one hand. Through the gap between the mouthpiece (2) 2 and

the front sleeve (1) you can now loosen the tension sleeve (5) counter clockwise with

the other hand and remove the device from the threaded mandrel (4)

7. Pull the battery (14) off the riveting tool and put the riveting tool and battery aside
8. You can now remove the threaded mandrel (4) with an open-ended spanner or a

size 5 socket wrench

9. Insert the mandrel (4), if necessary a new mandrel (4), with the tension sleeve (5)

and the mouthpiece (2) in the riveting tool and insert the battery (14). Reduce the

force or stroke to avoid further damage

Please remember that jamming the threaded mandrel (4) / threaded sleeve (4) has

usually damaged the thread of the blind rivet nut / blind rivet studs and the threaded

mandrel (4) / threaded sleeve (4) and should be replaced. If the threaded mandrel (4) /

threaded sleeve (4) cannot be removed, cut off the threaded mandrel (4) / threaded

sleeve (4) with a suitable tool.
