Technical description
1.1
Intended use
This machine is a battery powered setting tool for joining parts using the appropriate
fasteners. For the setting tools described in this manual, only blind rivets nuts and blind
rivet studs are to be used as fasteners.
1.2
Application limits
Safe and trouble-free operation of the machine is not assured in the following cases:
•
The machine is not operated in accordance with the operating manual.
•
The operator has not been instructed in the use of the machine.
•
The machine is used outside the scope of the intended use
1.3
Functional Description
The riveting tool has new, patented technologies that make it possible to use the riveting
tool in a more versatile way than with conventional riveting tools.
The riveting tool can process blind rivet nuts (blind rivet nuts) or blind rivet screws (blind
rivet screws) in the diameter range M3 - M12 in conventional materials such as
aluminum, steel and stainless steel. It should be noted here that the necessary setting
forces can be very different depending on the manufacturer.
Attention: The settings recommended in these operating instructions refer to HONSEL
blind rivet nuts and blind rivet bolts!
The main features of the riveting tool are:
•
Two-motor technology, which among other things enables the return stroke and the
unwinding to be operated in parallel
•
The riveting tool can be controlled by pulling force or pulling distance. For forces,
e.g. an M3 aluminium blind rivet nut, which are below the operating threshold of the
pulling motor, the pulling distance must also be set when setting the pulling force
•
The thread mandrel length is set via the software and not via an adjustable
mouthpiece (2)
•
All maintenance work can be carried out without tools
•
The riveting tool has an emergency mode if the mandrel (4) / threaded sleeve (4)
and the blind rivet nut / blind rivet screw cannot be separated from each other
•
The riveting tool has a very large working stroke of 20 mm, with which press-tab
blind rivet nuts can also be reliably set
•
The riveting tool can be switched and used via the menu for right-hand and left-
hand threads
•
The screwing on of the blind rivet nut or blind rivet studs can be triggered either by
pressing the threaded mandrel (4) (threaded mandrel (4)) or the threaded sleeve
