CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES
Route the cam chain [1] through the cylinder head and
install the cylinder head [2] onto the cylinder.
Loosely install the cylinder head bolts [3].
Install the spark plug [4] and tighten it.
Install the following:
– Camshaft holder (page 8-11).
– Engine (page 13-5)
DISASSEMBLY
To prevent loss of
tension, do not
compress the valve
spring more than
necessary to
remove the cotters.
While compressing the valve spring with a valve spring
compressor, remove the valve cotters [1].
Mark all
disassembled parts
to ensure correct
reassembly.
Remove the following:
– Spring retainers [1]
– Inner and outer valve springs [2]
– Intake and exhaust valves [3]
– Stem seals [4]
– Spring seats [5]
Remove the carbon deposits from the combustion
chamber.
TORQUE: 16 N·m (1.6 kgf·m, 12 lbf·ft)
