STARTING SYSTEM
RECOIL STARTER

Remove the recoil starter (page 8-2) .
The recoil spring is wound under high tension and
when released from the groove will cause sudden
unwinding.
Sudden unwinding can cause severe lacerations.
Wear gloves and eye protection during this
procedure and take care not to allow the spring to
come out.

ASSEMBLY:
Check the rope for fraying or
wear before installation.
ASSEMBLY:
Set the hook on the outer side of
the spring on the tab of the starter
case, and set the spring in the case
while turning the spring
counterclockwise.
