Transmission installation

1. Connect the drive clutch cable and shift cable to the transmission. Do not set the drive

clutch cable to the cable stay.

2. Install the spring tensioner plate in the cutter housing and connect the spring to the

plate.

3. Cover the groove in the ends of the axle shaft with a thin transparent tape to prevent

seal damage during assembly. Position the 22 mm snap rings and washers on the
axle shaft.

4. Apply grease to the inside of the adjuster bushings and install the rear adjuster arms.
5. Install the washers and 22 mm snap rings while pushing the adjuster toward inside.

Place the axle shaft holders and tighten the 6 x 12 screws securely.

6. Connect the tension spring to the transmission. Turn the transmission pulley

(transmission side) so the hole in the pulley aligns with the hole in the transmission
bracket. Insert a screw driver or rod into the holes, pivot the transmission, and install
the drive belt over the pulley.

7. Connect the drive clutch and shift cables to the control lever.
8. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

Adjust following:

- Drive clutch cable (ch. 3.5).

- Shift cable (ch. 3.7).
