Caution
Laser light striking the eye may cause your eyesight to be lost: For safety, be sure to remove any power
supply (AC adapter/charger, battery, etc.) from the camcorder before starting work.
3) Check to see whether the optical pickup is dirty: If it is not dirty, cleaning is not necessary.
If the optical pickup is dirty, use the following procedure to clean it:
a) Apply one drop of the speci
fi
ed cleaning liquid
(*2)
to
a cotton swab
(*1)
that does not contain any additive or
chemical.
b) Wipe the optical pickup in the direction of the arrow
with enough force that the pickup slightly sinks:
Applying undue force or wiping in the wrong direction
could cause a fault. This camcorder uses two optical
pickups for BD and DVD: Carefully clean both, one at
a time.
c) Wipe off any remaining moisture from the pickups
using a dry cotton swab
(*1)
that does not contain any
additive or chemical.
*1: Cotton swabs produced by Johnson & Johnson K.K. are
recommended. Do not reuse a cotton swab used for cleaning.
*2: Plastic lens cleaner B-4 (IPA) produced by JCB Industry
Limited.
