10. Disassembly and reassembly of the engine ass’y
[Tools required]
• Long-nose pliers
• Hex. bar wrench (5 mm)
• Box-end wrench 10 x 19 mm
(1) Disassembly
Remove the recoil starter, cleaner, muffler, clutch, and pump ass’y before disassembling the engine
ass’y.
• Use long-nose pliers to pull out the Spark Plug Cap
[77]
from the Spark Plug Ass’y BPMR7A
[73]
.
• Use the 19-mm side of the box-end wrench 10 x 19 mm to remove the Spark Plug Ass’y BPMR7A
[73]
.
• Loosen the two Hex. Socket Bolts M4
[26]
and remove the Intake
[27]
.
• Loosen the five Seal Lock Hex. Socket Bolts (W/Washers) M5
[29]
(upper side x 2 pcs., lower side x 2
pcs., and lateral side x 1 pc.), and then remove the engine ass’y.
(2) Reassembly
Reassembly can be conducted by reversing the disassembly procedure. However, special attention
should be given to the following items.
• Do not reuse the Hex. Socket Bolt M4
[26]
and Seal Lock Hex. Socket Bolts (W/Washers) M5
[29]
.
• Insert the high tension cord into the Spark Plug Cap
[77]
, and then attach the Metal Fitting of Plug
Cap (A)
[80]
to the high tension cord.
• Pass the high tension cord through the hole on the engine case.
• Attention must be paid to the position of the Intake Packing
[28]
when mounting the Intake
[27]
