FM 3180 Installation Guide
UPS
For any UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) providing power to an HPE FM 3180 fabric module, HPE
recommends the following:
•
The UPS must have enough capacity to power the fabric module plus any other equipment that is
connected to the UPS.
•
The UPS must be a double-conversion on-line sine-wave UPS.
Cabling
Ensure there is ample clearance at the power panel and I/O panel to allow unrestricted cabling. Also
ensure the AC power cords can easily reach from the AC power outlet to the connection on the power
supply panel of the fabric module.
Unpack the Fabric Modules
Unpack all fabric module components and inspect for shipping damage.
Verify Equipment Delivered
Compare the contents of the shipment against the packing slip that was included in the shipment, check
for any shipping damage, and verify that the components received match those ordered.
