3. Push in gas control knob and slightly turn
clockwise
to the OFF position (see figure

unless knob is pushed in slightly. Do not force.
4. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas.
Then smell for gas, including near the floor. If

to the next step.
5. Push in gas control know slightly and turn
counterclockwise
to PILOT/IGN and

knob back to OFF position then rotate
counterclockwise
to PILOT/IGN
position. This will light pilot. If needed gently

seconds after lighting pilot. If pilot goes out,
repeat steps 4, 5, 6 and 7.
If pilot does not stay lit, refer to
Troubleshooting, pages 12-13. Also, contact
a qualified service person or gas supplier for
repairs.
If control knob does not pop up when released,
contact a qualified service person or gas

8.
When the pilot is lit, turn the control knob
counterclockwise
to heating level. The
main burner should light.
9.
To select the desired heat level, turn the
temperature setting knob to desired comfort
setting from 1 to 5.

Do not try to adjust heating level by using
equipment shutoff valve.

incorrect pilot flame pattern. The incorrect pilot flame
pattern is not touching thermocouple. This will cause
the thermocouple to cool. When the thermocouple
cools, the heater will shut down. If pilot flame pattern is
incorrect, as shown in Figure 16:
