Thermal expansion
Since the rail is made of an aluminium alloy Series 6000 (thermal expansion coefficient: 23x10-6m/°C), during
the design phase, it is necessary to evaluate the rail thermal expansion - based on the length of the rail - which
may occur when the temperature varies. If the installation place is subject to thermal variations, it is necessary
to provide a clearance between one rail and the next of maximum 3 mm, in order to allow the trolley to slide
correctly.
The R27LS rail operating temperature range is -50°C to +80°C. For out-of-range applications, contact Harken
or Harken Italy.
