The HAPP 90 and HAPP 95 use 20mm tru bolts for anchoring. The tru bolts hole requires a 20mm high
quality masonry bit (the 4 head style bit) and good quality drilling machine for optimal results. The tru
bolt should be firm in the hole and torqued to specification quickly for optimum fitting, in a tight hole
they tighten very quickly.
The HAPP 90 and HAPP 95 pump assembly uses a 15amp connection and includes a
plug
that enables
the fitting of a limit switch if required to limit the stroke of the lifting. If you do not require a limit switch
you can safely have the electrician bridge the wires and place the wires back inside the control box.
When starting to use the hoist after a rest period, calibrate your lifting as described in this document
before raising vehicles, a few seconds equalizing lines ensures optimum lifting of these hoists.
Prior to lifting, it is important to align lift pads with horizontal lift points provided by the vehicle
manufacturer and to check this alignment each time the hoist is raised. Check the engagement when
the hoist pads contact the vehicle
every time the vehicle is lifted
.
The hoist has arm locks which are not load bearing but keep the arms in a desired location, they do not
stop cars from moving. Check that the jaws on the arm locks are correctly positioned and engage when
a vehicle is on the hoist.
There are mechanical safety latches that automatically engage every 100mm. The latches engage
(wedge) against the ladder welded into the column when the carriage is lowered. The safety release is an
over centering dog that holds the latch out and will hold its position as the carriage lowers. When the
carriage starts to raise again the dog releases allowing the latch to wedge against the ladder again when
the carriage next lowers.
The pictures below show the latch in active mode and disabled with the dog activated after pulling the
release lever.

When lifting you will hear a ‘clunk (pause) clunk’ as the synchronization of the carriages of both columns
engage within the same height safety latch. After both sides latches have cleared the desired height
safety latch you can then lower back onto the latch and start work on the vehicle. Make sure you have
cleared the safeties before engaging, failure to clear one safety lock and lowering may create an
