Troubleshooting
WARNING!
Improper use, faulty electrical installation or excessive mains voltage may result in
an electric shock or short-circuiting.

Never try to repair a defective or suspected defective appliance yourself. You can
put your own and future users’ lives in danger. Only authorised specialists are al-
lowed to carry out this repair work.
■
Do not continue to cook if you find cracks in the glass ceramic. Water that runs
through cracks into the hob may be live and can cause electric shock! Immediately
disconnect the hob from the mains (switch off and/or unscrew fuses) and contact
our Service Centre see “Service department“ on page EN-25).

The hob can not be
switched on, the sensor
field remains dark.
The power supply has been interrupted. Check the fuse(s) for the
hob in the fuse box. In case of doubt, connect our Service Centre see
“Service department“ on page EN-25).
The sensors respond
poorly.
There is a film of water over the sensors. Clean and dry the sensor
field.
You are not pressing the sensors sufficiently. Always touch the sen-
sors with your entire fingertip, not just the very end of the finger.
The cookware makes
a crackling or whirring
noise.
These noises arise due to the design of the induction cookware and
do not indicate a defect.
The cookware emits a
whistling sound when on
a high heat setting.
These noises arise due to the design of the induction cookware and
do not indicate a defect. If you reduce the heat setting, these noises
should stop.
Fan noise.
The hob is equipped with a fan, which switches on automatically
when one of the cooking zones is activated and continues to run for
some time after the hob has been switched off. Do not shut off power
to the hob while the fan is running.
The cookware does not
heat up and ‘ ’ appears
on the display.
The cookware is not recognised because it is not suitable for induc-
tion hobs. Select suitable cookware see “The right cookware“ on
page EN-11).
The induction hob does not recognise the cookware because it is too
small for the selected cooking zone or because it is not centred on
the cooking zone.
