Cooking zones and sensors
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
■
Only switch a cooking zone off using the
sensors, and never by removing the pot
from the cooking zone. If you remove
the pot from the cooking zone, the zone
will be reactivated as soon as a pot or
other object made of ferromagnetic ma-
terial is placed in it.
Switching the hob off
– Press the on/off (8) sensor to switch off the
entire hob.
You will hear an acoustic signal and all of
the indicator lights with the exception of the
residual heat symbols ‘
H
’ will go out. The
residual heat symbols ‘
H
’ will continue to
blink as long as the cooking zones are hot.

CAUTION
Risk of burns!
■
Do not place any objects on inactive
cooking zones. There is a risk that the
cooking zone could be activated and the
object heated.
Automatic protection settings
The hob has a number of protective devic-
es to prevent it from being damaged during
operation. If the hob is properly installed and
used, these protection settings will rarely be
used.
Automatic reduction in performance
The temperature of the electronic elements
inside the hob are constantly measured using
a sensor.
If the heat increases too much, the hob is au-
tomatically switched off.
Operating time limit
For safety reasons, each cooking zone is pro-
vided with an operating time limit. If the heat
setting is not changed for a prolonged peri-
od of time, the cooking zone is automatically
switched off and the residual heat symbol ‘
H
’
is activated.
The maximum operating time is set in accord-
ance with the most recently selected heat set-
ting.
