For your safety
have been instructed in the safe use of
the appliance and understand the dan-
gers associated with its use.

Children must not be allowed to play
with the appliance.
■
Cleaning and user maintenance may not
be performed by children unless they are
at least eight or more years of age and
under adult supervision.
■
Children can become entangled when
playing in the packaging fi lm and suffo-
cate. Ensure that the packaging fi lm re-
mains out of the reach of children.
■
Children may swallow small parts and
suffocate. Ensure that children do not re-
move any small parts from the appliance
or take them out of the accessories pack-
aging and place them in their mouths.
■
Make sure children do not have unsuper-
vised access to the hob.
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
There is a risk of burns as a result of im-
proper handling of this appliance.
■
Do not place metal objects such as cut-
lery and lids on the glass ceramic hob.
These can heat up and cause burns.
■
Always switch the glass ceramic hob off
completely after cooking! Do not exclu-
sively rely on the automatic pot recog-
nition.
CAUTION
Fire hazard!
Flammable objects placed close to the ap-
pliance may ignite easily!
■
Do not leave temperature-sensitive,
combustible or fi re-hazardous objects on
the hob! If the appliance is switched on
unintentionally they may become mis-
shapen or ignite.
■
If you are preparing foods in oil, fat or
using alcohol, do not leave the hob unsu-
pervised! The foods may ignite.
■
Ensure that your food doesn’t burn.
■
If a fi re ignites in your cooking pans:
immediately place the lid on them!
■
Never extinguish burning oil or fat
with water!
■
If a fi re starts, immediately set all switch-
es to zero and switch off the automatic
circuit breakers and unscrew the fuses.
To extinguish the fi re, use a suitable fi re
extinguisher with the designation ‘F’ or
a fi re blanket.
■
Once the fi re has been extinguished,
have the appliance checked by our Cus-
tomer Service see „Our Customer Ser-
vice“ on page GB-24).
■
Always switch the glass ceramic hob off
completely after cooking. Even interrupt-
ing the cooking process does not switch
off the appliance.
■
Always switch off the hob or cooking
zone yourself if you wish to stop a cook-
ing process. Cancelling the cooking time
limit does not end the cooking process
itself.
■
If the external cooling fan is defective,
the appliance can quickly overheat. The
appliance can be further damaged by
this and fl ammable objects that are ad-
jacent to the appliance may catch fi re.
In this case, switch the appliance off im-
mediately!
■
Do not cover the appliance with blan-
kets, cloths or similar, even to protect the
cooking surfaces, as these objects may
become hot and catch fi re.
■
Only hob grilles or hob covers made by
the hob manufacturer, approved grilles
or covers which are listed in the user
manual, or pre-installed protective hob
grilles or hob covers may be used. The
use of unsuitable hob grilles or hob cov-
ers may lead to accidents.
