Using and caring for the hob

Automatic safety switch-off
If excessively high temperatures are reg-
istered inside the hob housing, the hob will
switch off automatically for security reasons.
Locking function (child safety
function)
The locking function is intended to prevent
the following situations:
– unauthorised or unintentional changes be-
ing made to the settings of the active cook-
ing zones;
– unauthorised or unintentional switching off
of the hob.
To
• activate the function, touch the safety
lock sensor (5) for a few seconds.
The “
Lo
” indicator will flash.
• deactivate the function, touch the safety
lock sensor for a few seconds again.
The “
Lo
” indicator will go out.
If the safety lock is switched on, all
sensors apart from the On/Off sen-
sor are locked (6). If required, you can switch
off the hob at any time using the On/Off
sensor.
If the hob has been switched off while the
safety lock was activated, the hob cannot be
switched on again until the safety lock has
been deactivated.
Using the appliance as a
kitchen timer
You can use the appliance’s timer function as
a kitchen timer. In this case, set the time with-
out selecting a cooking zone.

– The hob and at least one cooking zone
must be switched on.
– The cooking zone must not flash any
longer.

1. To switch on the timer function, touch the
timer sensor (9).
The timer indicator (10) will flash and show

setting sensor (7).

After 5 seconds, the timer indicator will be
constantly illuminated and will count the set
time down.

Once the set time has elapsed, a beep will
sound for 30 seconds and the timer indica-
tor will show “
