Safety
The residual heat display may
switch off if there is an interruption
to the power supply although there
is still residual heat.
■
Do not place metal objects such as
silverware and lids on the glass ce-
ramic hob because they may heat
up and cause burns.
■
Allow the cooking zones and oven
to cool completely before cleaning.
Health hazard!
■
Individuals with a pacemaker
should discuss the use of an induc-
tion hob with a doctor.
■
Do not defrost meat, poultry and
fi
sh in the oven. Take the frozen
food out of the freezer ahead of
time, cover and let it defrost in the
refrigerator. The
fl
uid from the fro-
zen food must be able to properly
drain, otherwise harmful microor-
ganisms can form.
Acrylamide may be carcinogenic.
Acrylamide is produced when starch
is exposed to excessive heat, e.g. in
potatoes (fries, chips), biscuits, toast,
bread etc.
■
Keep cooking times as short as
possible.
■
Only brown the food slightly, do not
allow it to brown too much.
■
Cut larger-sized fries and then bake
at maximum of 180°C.
■
Brushing baked goods with egg
whites or egg yolks helps to reduce
the formation of acrylamide.
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
■
For cleaning purposes, do not
use any harsh, abrasive cleaning
agents or scouring agents, steel
wool, metal scrapers, oven sprays,
steam cleaners or high-pressure
cleaners! They can damage the
surface and destroy the glass.
High-pressure cleaners can cause
a short circuit.
■
Immediately remove sugar or
starchy food particles and residues
of plastics or aluminium foil. Oth-
erwise this may lead to permanent
damage which cannot be repaired.
■
Even if small objects just make
slight contact with the hob, they
can damage the glass ceramic sur-
face. For example, do not allow salt
and pepper shakes to fall onto the
hob from cabinets above.
■
Do not push heavy pans across
the appliance; this may scratch the
glass ceramic.
■
Do not place any magnetisable ob-
jects (e.g. credit cards) near or on
the hob to prevent them from be-
coming damaged by the electro-
magnetic
fi
eld.
■
Wipe the glass ceramic and the
bottom of the pots prior to use in
order to remove any dirt which may
cause scratches.
■
Only use the hob as a work surface
or to place objects on once it has
completely cooled off. Materials
which are sensitive to heat such as
