Installing the Switch into a 19-Inch Rack Using Mounting Brackets
Installation Modes
You can install a switch into a 19-inch standard cabinet in one of the following four ways:
z
Use front mounting brackets
z
Use front mounting brackets and a tray
z
Use front mounting brackets and rear mounting brackets
z
Use front mounting brackets and guide rails
The installation methods of a switch depend on the depth and width of the switch. For the specific
installation methods, see
Table 3-1
.

When the depth of a switch is greater than 300 mm (11.81 in.), the front mounting brackets only secure
the switch rather than bear its weight.
