Troubleshooting
This appendix provides solutions to common program and operation issues. Please
check this list before contacting your authorized service center.
If this happens: Check: For more

No front panel display Verify AC Power. Is the unit plugged in? Internal
fuse may be blow. Have fuse checked by a
qualified service technician.
Master Reset Unit.

Controls
STOP! card
Poor picture on
monitor in RECORD or
STOP mode Check monitor/camera adjustments, cable
connections and 75 Ohm termination on

Video Installation
No Time/Date Display
but video is present Check that Time/Date is turned on and check
settings in Time/Date submenu.
Check the V-POS control: display may be
positioned "off-screen".
If using a multiplexer, quad or switcher, check
that video on monitor is from VCR.

Menus
No Video on monitor,
but digital display is lit Verify that VCR In and VCR Out connections
are correct. Connect camera directly to
monitor to insure video is present.
Verify good cables.

Time/Date present but
no video Same as above (video not necessary to display
Time/Date stamp). Controls
Menus
Streaks or noise appear
on picture during
playback Adjust Tracking and Sharpness Controls.
Video cassette may need replacing.
Check Head and Total Usage Hours in System
Data menu. If greater than 8000, the unit may
need servicing.
Heads may be dirty. Clean heads.
