Alternatively the operator can merge the zones requested and the caller can make the page and wait
for the called party to come on the line.
If a merge request comes in from an unmerged zone while a merge of other zones is in progress the
operator can merge the zone from which the request is coming with the merged zones and butt in, to
convey to the person that the request cannot be processed at that time.
The MICON display will
indicate if the caller has a handset picked up in their zone by illuminating the respective zone number.
Keying of instructions from a MICON Unit to the MICAB:
