E NGAGE AND DIS­ENGAGE CUTTER DRIVE
Turn the engine off before opening the safety flap to
access the blade drive toggle.
Open the safety flap by
gripping the handle stem ‘A’ located to the rearward
rim of the flap, lift it up to hinge the safety flap for­
ward to expose the blade drive engagement toggle ‘B’.
Beware that the engagement toggle is attached to
the pulley and spins at speed when the engine is
running with throttle.
DO NOT OPEN THE CLUTCH SAFETY FLAP
WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING.
To engage or dis­engage the cutter drive flip the
red engagement toggle ‘B’ from one side to the other
as shown. When the toggle is being set to engage the
blade clutch from the disengaged position the toggle
will become loose, this is normal.
Ensure that the
safety flap is closed before starting the engine. Pull
the throttle lever gently to enable the blade clutch pin
to engage drive before increasing the power.
TRANSPORTING AND MANOEUVRING
Pulling up on the throttle lever ’A’ will increase the
engine speed and engage the main drive clutch. If the
ground drive lever and blade drive toggle are set in the
dis­engaged (neutral) position, no drive will be trans­
mitted to the ground wheel or the cutter blade and the
machine can be wheeled freely by the operator. En­
gage the ground drive for forward transportation un­
der power. The cutter blade drive should remain dis­
engaged for transporting and manoeuvring.
THE ENGINE
The TMC2 Turf Cutter is fitted standard with a
Honda GX200 6.5 HP Engine. Unleaded or low
leaded fuel is preferred to minimize combustion
chamber deposits. Before starting for the first time
check that the engine has been filled to the correct
level with engine oil (see running maintenance sec­
tion of this manual. )To start the engine, switch the
ignition switch ‘A’ on. Check that the fuel lever ‘C’ is
turned on and if the engine is cold, turn on the choke
lever ‘B’. Pull the starter cord handle ‘D’ and when
the engine starts, ease the choke lever off.
